The Madeira Ferry is operating again this summer.

Every Sunday, from July 7 to September 25, the ship “Volcán de Timanfaya/ARMAS” sails between Portimão, in the Algarve and Funchal, the capital of Madeira.
Chartered by the company ENM- Empresa de Navegações Madeirense, the ship is sailing with the Canary Islands in a rotation system.
The rotation is in the direction of tenerife (Canary Islands)-Funchal (Madeira)-Portimão (Algarve). The departure from Portimão to Funchal takes place on Tuesday at 2pm. The departure from Funchal to Portimão takes place on Monday at 10:30 am.

There are many different rates, depending on whether you are a Madeira resident or a student. A non-resident adult pays 85 euros to occupy a seat

The crossing takes 23 hours. The ship is equipped with berths with again different levels of comfort and different price levels.

For example, a caravan trip costs 810 euros plus 110 euros for return.
The ship “Armas” can carry 1000 passengers, 300 cars and 35 couplers.
For a time, the continent-Madeira maritime link was considered throughout the year. For the time being, the link is limited to the summer months.
